Christina Aguilera`s new album is "futuristic"
The singer has been working on her new record Bionic for some time, and was keen to make it sound different to what she has done before. She has previously interpreted music from decades including the 1920s and 1040s, but has now decided to come up with something totally fresh.
"I`m so excited - I`ve had an idea for a futuristic feel for many years now," she explained. "It`s always been in the back of my mind to do a more futuristic sound. I was inspired by artists that I am collaborating with on the album. Folks like Sia, Ladytron and Goldfrapp."
As well as looking to other artists for inspiration for the record, Christina also searched closer to home. She has two-year-old son Max with her husband Jordan Bratman, and admits her love for him features heavily on the record.
"I felt like it couldn`t have been a better time or place for me personally, also as a new mom," she explained to In Touch Weekly magazine. "Max has so much of both of us. One day, everyone says he looks just like Jord, and the next, like me. He is walking and talking, and a bundle of joy!"
Bionic is slated for release later this year. The first single, Not Myself Tonight, is expected to be made available next month.
